The Museum of Speculative Science

The Museum of Speculative Science (2011) is an installation and a series of lecture-performances where I commingle rumor and the aesthetics of truth. The museum is an ongoing archive of demotic subjects like the sexual prowess of Wilt Chamberlain, the last meal of Francois Mitterand and fabrications that have underwritten several breakthroughs in objective science. However, the archive is suspect and the motives of the narrator are called into question. In performance, I gradually become my own worst example, an absurd guide whose exposed unreliability prompts the viewer consider other meanings.
